Scott is...
A proud Tulsa native with an IT Infrastructure career that started before you could Google for help, much less ask AI. Beyond technical expertise, Scott is a dedicated community advocate and volunteer, actively contributing to various nonprofits, with much of that board and volunteer work focused on the growth and smart development of the city of Tulsa. A science fiction TV fanatic and movie buff, Scott is a giant geek at heart, who is always currently binging at least one sci-fi series. (The grammar is not great but I made AI do this part and that's why)
Why is this page here?
I grew up in an era where "making it" in the internet world was having your own website. Even if it was just Geocities. I have tried to maintain a continuous website presence since then, but as you will see by looking around, most of this is just silliness. I have my blackjack game I wrote in 1999 linked at the top and other nonsense around. While I have used wordpress for years this website is back-to-the-basics HTML and CSS static files hosted by Cloudflare.
I get off the internet and venture out in the world to be involved in things like:
-
Tulsa, the city itself
- Ever since I started working in downtown Tulsa in the late 90's, I have been intrigued by what goes on behind the scenes to make (or not make) a city how you want it to be. That lead to protesting building demolition, serving with TulsaNow for almost a decade, hosting public forums on transportation, zoning and development and even helping launch a downtown marketing program. It also lead to going through Leadership Tulsa and even running for City Council. In more recent years, that energy is spent on organizations like listed below as well as being the Secretary of the City of Tulsa Sales Tax Overview Committee, overseeing City of Tulsa Capital projects.
- FC Tulsa
- I am not really a sports fan, but I enjoy competition and the sense of community around sports fandom (and sports cosplay). Thanks to COVID we ended up watching FC Tulsa soccer of all things adfter watching YouTube videos explaining soccer. We ultimately enjoyed it and have found the community around the team to be overall positive and culturally active. I served as the Treasurer of 83 United for four years and enjoy the other groups including Birdwatchers, 918 Brigade and Lunatics. Over the first five years we watched we went from new ownership at the bottom of the barrel to hosting the National Championship and being the Western Conference Champions.
-
Tulsa School of Arts & Sciences
- Most often a school is a place you go when you leave home, but TSAS strives to also be a home to a diverse group of students to be able to pursue a diverse set of interests. Because of that I'm on the board of their Foundation, and served about 8 years as the president, seeking ways to improve the school even more.
-
Tulsa Oktoberfest
- America's #1 Oktoberfest is a cultural institution in Tulsa and it is important to preserve what is great about events like this and keep them going. That is why I am proud to be part of the Leadership team.
-
Other Events
- Culture is one of the best parts of Tulsa and a big public part of that is its events. Many of them I just enjoy going to, others I enjoy working at. More On That Later

Job, Family, Pets and other things
- Head on over to my LinkedIn if you want more specifics on how I spend my days, it has more details than this page does. While I am a proud husband and father of two adult kids, my family's lives are their own to share or not share. If you made it this far down the page, you should go ahead and stalk the other pages linked at the top of the page too.
